This peace and love
inspired stained glass artwork
is another or my artworks that pays retro homage to the days
of flower power and classic rock
posters.
This is another example of an artwork
in stained glass where all of the colors look fine to the human eye
but never come out right in a photo. In the
photo above, the background looks correct only in the upper left hand
corner. The other corners or the artwork show the background as whiter
than they really are. Also, the letter "V" in the word love looks too
white - it's actually a light pale pink. In a few places, the darkest
pieces look almost black, but they are actually dark green, dark
magenta, and dark brown. There are no black glass pieces. The
rest
of the colors are fairly accurate, but the overall effect is much more
vibrant than the artwork appears here.
The lettering is all
constructed in 5/32" lead with zinc overlays that define the
letters in the style of vintage rock
posters. The background is constructed with 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2
inch lead cames.
This cool and groovy
stained glass is framed in an oak frame, which looks black in
these photos.
The size of the stained
glass is 28" wide a 20" high. Including the oak frame, the overall size
of this artwork is 31"
wide by 23" high. The oak frame has screw eyes mounted in it, making
this peace loving artwork ready to hang.
The price of this
contemporary beveled glass artwork was $2600.00, but I gave it to a dear friend in 2020.
