In
the winter of
2017-2018, I made these two flowering vine stained glass door panels
and two matching entry panels for a lovely home near Denver, Colorado.
The stained glass panels shown above are mounted into two exterior
doors that lead out to a side veranda or patio.
The clients wanted totally clear glass for
the
background, which made the cleaning and installation of these panels
significantly more difficult. However, the result was just what they
wanted, to see out and to have others less able to see in.
My style of not including extra lines that are not part of the design,
itself, meant that this design looks simple but is not. Look more
closely at the shapes of the clear glass pieces in the
background,
and you will see that they are quite complex.
Below is another photo that shows the doors as well.
And below are the matching flowering vine stained glass entry
windows, bracketing the front door of this home. In these panels, we
used a sloftly textured clear glass to give a little more privacy at
the entry than was needed off the patio.
