This is the second in a series of beveled glass and
colored glass artworks. I was so pleased with the first one (also for
sale in my online gallery) that I wanted to make another one with a
different shape and differnt colors. The photo to the right
was taken in front of a honeycomb blind because the colored glasses (which always
look just right to the human eye) come out too dark when photographed with sunlight streaming in. The two photos farther
down show the clarity and beauty of the bevels without the blind pulled down.
This
contemporary abstract beveled artwork uses 1.5" x 1.5" square
bevels and three sizes of lead came to create a unique and attention-getting
look. I used 1/4, 1/2, and 5/32 inch lead cames on the
interior of this artwork, and 3/4 inch zinc came around the
outside edge for additional strength. The lead, solder, and zinc have
all been darkened to a dark charcoal gray with a chemical
patina.
The overall size of this artwork is 16 5/8 inches
wide by 33 1/4 inches high. If you are interested in this artwork, I
will try to take a better picture of it. It really is magnificent.
The price of this
contemporary beveled glass artwork is $1800.00. Contact me for a quote that would
include insured shipping.
The photo above shows the beauty of the beveled glass.

And
here is the photo of the artwork without the shade drawn. Only
the greens and the gold glasses look accurate here. The rest
of the colors are more accurately shown in the photo above.
