This
Buddha stained glass artwork is no longer for sale. My son
asked
to have it and I was glad to give it to him.
This artwork has always been one of my favorites. It's constructed with
both copper foil and lead came, which is a rare choice for my artworks
as it requires special considerations during the making process.
The
Buddha was made first using the copper-foil method. Then, the
Buddha was treated just like any other single piece of glass
in a
leaded project. Thebackground, the visual mantra, was constructed with
lead came around the completed Buddha.
I used
5/32" lead came throughout the leaded part.
This design
required a lot of mathematical manipulation during the design phase and
technical skill during the construction phase, and it is a testament
to my mastery of this art form.
This Buddhist stained glass is 30
inches. With the natural wood oak
frame (which looks black in this photo), the final artwork is just over
35
inches.
The colors look fairly accurate here, except for the
midnight blue, which looks a little too purple in this photo.
When this artwork was for sale, the price of this artwork was
$4400.00 plus insured shipping to your location.
My son graduated with a Masters in Aerospace Engineering in May of 2022
and moved to Bellevue Washington to take a job with Amazon. Here is a
photo of the artwork where it now hangs in his studio apartment.
