Colorless stained glass doesn't need to
include bevels. This three window set is mounted in
the home-office of a very exclusive residence. Only clear, textured
glasses were used in this contemporary stained glass artwork. |
|
These
windows are leaded with 1/4"
lead came for all of the straight lines and 1/2" lead for the
circular
lines. The side panels are over 8 feet tall, so they had to be made in
two sections. A flawless transition was achieved where the two sections
meet by using a tiny zinc came on the top section that fits into a
high-heart lead came on the bottom section. This made the installation
a bit trickier, but it went smoothly overall..
A professional woodworker was utilized to
create the
wood frames for
the sidelite panels. I provided several drawings that the woodworker
followed in preparing these wood frames. The measurements for the
stained glass were taken after the woodwork was completed.

It
was impossible for me to get far enough away from these contemporary
colorless stained glass panels so I have to show them to you in three
photos. Luckily, one can see all three panels easily when standing in
front of this artwork.
The clients were so happy with the way this
artwork
turned out that
they said I could bring you by their home to see it in person. Want to
go see it?
