Chinese calligraphy is captured in stained
glass in this
freehanging artwork. The Chinese lettering here depicts the sentiment "Good
Fortune".
This artwork is leaded with 1/4" lead in the
border and
1/8" lead in the center. As with most of my artworks, the lead and
solder have been darkened with a black patina that actually looks
charcoal gray in the finished piece.
The detail photo (above right) shows that
the background
glass is actually a pale blue. It also depicts the cobalt blue in the
border more accurately than in the full-image photo, where it looks too
purple. Lastly, the detail photo shows the beveled glass squares used
in the border.
