This peace sign stained
glass artwork
pays retro homage to the days of flower power and classic rock
posters. Can you read the background? Give it a try before you scroll
to the bottom of this page where I'll tell you what it says. HINT: it's
the title of a song about peace written by John Lennon while the
Beatles were still a group but "doing their own thing," a song that was
later dubbed by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the 500 songs
that shaped rock 'n roll.
The flower garland peace
sign is all
done in 5/32" lead with zinc overlays for the flower centers and the
lone butterfly. The background lettering is all done in 1/4" lead with
zinc overlays that define the letters in the style of vintage rock
posters.
This cool and groovy
stained glass is framed in an oak frame, which looks black in this
photo.
The size of the stained
glass is 28" wide a 20" high. Including the oak frame, the overall size
of this
artwork is 31"
wide by 23" high. The oak frame has screw eyes mounted in it, making
this peace loving artwork ready to hang..
The price of this
contemporary
beveled glass artwork was
$1900.00, but I gave it to my ex-wife in 2018.
The background says,
"ALL WE ARE SAYING IS GIVE PEACE A CHANCE"
