contemporary stained glass window can get
very funky, such as this artwork that is currently for sale.
Contemporary abstract design can go in many directions. It can be
subdued or bright, simple of complex. The example shown here is of the
simple variety, which makes this an ideal design to use in a permanent
setting where large a square footage is required. A contemporary
stained glass artwork (hanging like this one) could also be
commissioned in just the size, proportions, and colors that you might
find ideal.
This artwork is 30" tall by 13" wide. It's
constructed with 1/4" lead
came throughout, and the outer edge is a 3/4" zinc came that gives
strong support and a framed look.
All of the
colored glasses look more accurate near the top of
this photo (they look too dark at the bottom). Also, the 3
yellow-orange pieces are actually a
golden-yellow-brown, not orange as they appear here.
Also worth pointing out is that all of the clear pieces
are unique, that is, each one is a different textured glass.
